My passion is assisting people with a better understanding of the mind body connection and empowering clients to take a proactive approach to their health and wellness. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University North Carolina Greensboro. I completed two years of post graduate work to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My work history includes diverse settings such as psychiatric hospitals, community mental health, non-profit organizations and private practice. My family and I relocated to California from North Carolina in 2012. I began working towards licensure in California as there was no reciprocity. I am now licensed in California after completing all requirements and passing two state licensure exams. I specialize in working with adults with anxiety, depression, perinatal challenges, self-esteem issues, trauma, life transition issues, anger, stress reduction, grief and loss. I utilize such therapeutic modalities as Cognitive Behavioral, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), Coaching, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Therapeutic Writing. In addition I provide corporate trainings in stress reduction. I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment where you can process feelings, perspective, and effective means of coping.
